Opportunities with students
Engage and energize students to understand the importance of being prepared for college and their future careers by sharing your own experiences. These sessions are about an hour and take place in a small group setting of 15-20 students to promote meaningful discussion. We encourage making these visits as creative and interactive as possible.
Workplace Field Trips:
Host a small group of students at your office, letting them hear from employees and what a real place of business. These opportunities allow our students to gain important insight into the professional world and to learn about life “outside the classroom.”
Throughout the year we have many events, like MLK Day of Service, Fitness Days, our Spring Arts Showcase, summer track & field day and many more where students from SASF after-school programs all throughout NYC come together for a common purpose. There are lots of ways we use volunteers for these types of events, from helping with set-up and cleanup to leading activities and workshops to serving as a cheerleader for the kids. These events often take place during school holidays, Saturdays or evenings. If you are interested we can include you on our list to let you know as these opportunities become available on our site.
